Syllabus

Privacy and Data Protection in Information Society. European and national data protection regulatory framework.  General Data Protection Regulation GDPR Specific issues of data protection: data protection and e-government/ Personal data protection and online social networks. Personal Data protection in workplace. Data Protection and Privacy Enhancing Technologies. Privacy/ Data Protection by Design. Privacy and Data Protection in the electronic communication sector and in Internet. Anonymity in Internet . Privacy/Data Protection and Artificial Intelligence

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion students will:

  • Understand the fundamental principles of privacy and data protection with regard to the study, design, operation and security of information systems.
  • Understand the legal and regulatory framework governing information privacy and data protection and be able to identify weaknesses in the design and operation of information and communication systems and to develop solutions for improvement.
